Our club holds cultural events where our members indulge in the Italian cuisine and language through Pizza and Nutella donuts stalls, study clubs, a boat cruise and Ball. Celebrate Italy with MUISC!

For more than 30 years, the Italian Social Club has been bringing Italian culture, language and history to the University community. Every year we hold events where our members meet, and take part in cultural activities such as antipasto lunches, language sessions and workshops, film screenings, and collaborations with other Unimelb Clubs.

In addition to on-campus events, we hold a larger event: a Formal Ball in September, held in conjunction with Monash and RMIT Universities. So why not join MUISC and experience a piece of Italy here at Melbourne Uni?

Club Aims:

  1. To provide the students and staff of the University of Melbourne with a better insight into Italian culture through music, cuisine, language and other cultural experiences.
  2. To enhance the understanding and acceptance of the Italian way of life and encourage the study of Italian Studies at the University of Melbourne.
  3. To promote the local Italian community throughout the University of Melbourne and beyond.
  4. To serve as a place for students of Italian Studies to engage in further learning and appreciation of Italian culture and engage socially beyond the confines of the classroom and the lecture theatre.
  5. To work with other organisations to promote Italian culture amongst youth in Melbourne.
